Season 2025-26
match report 14th Sept 2025
Biggar Blacks v Dumfries etc
A tough day at the office for this lot but they played amazingly well! Andrew will be able to give a more detailed rundown of the games but the first match against Dumfries was a very physical and fast paced game with both teams very even in play! A last min try saw Biggar win 9-8!
The second match against Stewartry was again a challenge but some brilliant support play from all saw Biggar win 10-2! There will be some tired girls tonight. Well done all and thanks to the parents for getting the girls there (i forgot how far it is!).
Match Report 7th September 2025
U14 Girls
What a day in rainy Dumfries although the rain didn't dampen spirits! We had a slow start, but you all know that! After a team huddle and some encouragement, the fire was lighted and the games started! Support play got better and better as the games progressed and more pressure up on the line helped our defence. We had fierce competition from all three teams today who wanted the wins but they realised very quickly we also wanted the wins! There were some big tackles and some knocks taken by you all, but play continued just as strongly! Well done to everyone today! Same again next week! Sent from my iPhone Another good days work at Annan. The girls were on fire. Annan girls looked a bit more organised than last week but they just could not live with the fast paced off loading game we took to them. The Ayr game was a tougher encounter again and they drafted in the best of the Annan team to make up their numbers. I can not praise the girls enough for their work rate in defence and attack, I asked them to put pressure on Ayr and that is exactly what they did. Some very tired players were still bursting a gut to cover gaps or get on each others shoulder in support right to the final whistle of the final game. An unreal effort and exactly the attitude that wins you games. Loads of highlights from today but two of the best were watching the team spirit of three players holding on to the big Annan player and keeping her held up over the line. And the one of many great tries was from our own half we offloaded so well, I'd guess we completed about 10 off loads and a couple of players had their hands on the ball at least twice. Absolutely awesome girls, Mark and I were buzzing watching you. Keep being awesome girls
