Doug became a member of Biggar RFC some 28 years ago having played at Livingston as a teenager. He was immediately involved in coaching at Biggar and was a Mini coach for over 25 years, taking kids from P4 to P7 then stepping back down to begin again at P4. He takes great pride in seeing many of 'his' Mini kids graduating to the 1st XV.

Doug also served as Club Treasurer from 2013-16 and has been a co-opted member of the Trustees for 3 years, overseeing the club finances. Professionally Doug was a banker and is therefore well acquainted with the financial aspects of the club and understands fully the aspirations of the committee and members alike.
