Biggar RFC welcome BHC as new Club Sponsors
Biggar RFC are delighted to announce that local firm BHC (Brian Hewitt Construction) are confirmed as Main Club Sponsor for season 2026-27 and beyond.
BRFC Club President Gordon Young, who is also the Club’s Sponsorship Convenor commented:
“I am delighted to welcome BHC, a local and highly successful company,as the main sponsor of Biggar Rugby Club.
BHC has been a valued supporter of Biggar RFC for more than 30 years, and I believe this is the perfect time to strengthen that relationship. Hopefully, some of their success will rub off on our Men's 1st XV as they push for promotion to the Premiership, our Ladies' team which continues to compete at the highest level of club rugby in Scotland and our burgeoning Youth sections which continue to perform at the highest level throughout Scotland.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian and Marjorie for their commitment to Biggar RFC. Their support is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to a long and successful partnership between the club and BHC.
This marks the beginning of an exciting new era at Hartree Mill, with a new main sponsor and a new coaching team joining us as we continue to build for the future”.

Brian and Marjorie Hewitt share their thoughts:
“When we first moved to Quothquan in 1982, we quickly realised that we had joined the close-knit and welcoming community of the Biggar area. This helped the Hewitt family settle into a new home, and since then we have made a lifetime of memories with good friends in the area.
At the heart of this community is Biggar Rugby Club, with the farming community playing a central role in the life and success of the club.
Marjorie and I have always enjoyed rugby, and we especially look forward to our trips to Murrayfield, where there has always been a strong representation from Biggar.
Our connection with the club has continued through the next generation, with our son Craig and daughter Jennifer both having played at Biggar.
Bryan Cathcart, our Operations Director, is also involved in coaching at midi level, and three of Bryan’s sons play at the club, reflecting the strong family ties that so many people have with Biggar Rugby Club.
We have long admired the proactive nature of the club and, with the recent extensions and improvements to its facilities, it is now the envy of many clubs across the country.
So, when Gordon asked us to become the club’s main sponsor, it did not take much persuasion.
We are both extremely proud to support Biggar Rugby Club and hope that our sponsorship contributes to its success for many years to come”.

BRFC Comment
When the club was formed 50 years ago, the local community, individuals and businesses, immediately stepped up to support the club’s efforts through sponsorship, advertising and in other practical areas.
That support was crucial to the club’s early development and it is something that continues today with Hewitt’s the next in a long line of main sponsors who are both happy and proud to be associated with the club.
The club membership is very aware of this and is very appreciative of that support.
There are dozens of volunteers involved in a wide variety of areas at Hartree Mill, all of whom contribute time and energy to provide opportunities for all ages to play rugby. The fact that local businesses still offer their support allows the club to make the best of these efforts.
Thank you to Brian and Marjorie of BHC.
