Very many congratulations from all at Biggar RFC to Fergus Watson who has been named in the Scotland U20 XV for their opening 6 Nations fixture v Wales on Friday evening (Colwyn Bay : KO 6.45pm, live on BBC iPlayer).
It has been a frustrating time for Fergus as he has had little game time so far this season. He has been itching to play and it is clear the wait has been worth it as this is a fantastic achievement for the youngster and we as a club, wish him well!
Everyone involved at the club takes great pride in the achievements of our players and with the Girls Youth sides at U16 and U18 filled with Biggar players, several Boys involved at U18 for Glasgow and the Ladies showing the way at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Scotland, this is another massive boost for our club.
That pride must be felt one hundred fold in the Watson household, grandpa Bill and his brother George having played for Scotland in the 1970's and with Dad Graeme and Mum Laura actively involved as Colts Coach and Boys Youth Convenor respectively - not forgetting of course, siblings Harris and Ruari who both play at the club as well!!
