The start of 2026 looks like it'll be delayed as winter hits hard around the country.
Think we've been lucky when compared to some but still too much frost I think to thaw the pitches and allow play.

The picture is of John Bogle who, in March 2013, cleared the 1st XV pitch of snow.
Not just by himself of course!
JB was one of around 50 club members who answered the call on Saturday morning to clear the snow and prepare the pitch for the visit of Selkirk.
Sadly the Border outfit were in no doubt about the surface and barely got off the bus before declaring it unfit to play.
We of course thought it was fine but a split decision gave the referee no option but to postpone.
The sides met twice in the following weeks with honours even after the two games; Biggar winning away by 41-7 and then Selkirk squeezing a win at Hartree Mill by 20-17.
