Season 2024-25

3rd November 2024

Today saw us host West of Scotland who arrived with a strong and powerful pack of players, including some very talented individuals. We played 3 x 15minute sessions and from the get-go, Biggar stepped up to the challenge, and to be honest, displayed some of the best rugby we have seen this year. It is evident some of the players really are moulding round about the positions on the pitch and it truly is enjoyable to watch. This was cemented when the referee complimented us on our game play and discipline which makes us, as coaches, very proud of the boys as a group. Great result, special mention to Ben on his first try for the team. Keep up the hard work!

U13 v Ayr

Today saw our U13 boys hit the road, west to face the opposition of Ayr Rugby Club. This was a game not to be taken lightly. Our boys turned up in Red & Black with determination, team spirit and a thirst for the game. The first 15 mins saw some early tries from both teams and a period in which to settle and nerves before stepping up the intensity in period two and three. Credit should not be discounted from Ayr, this was an even, end to end match with passion shown by both sides. Our boys dug deep, with 5 tries scored by Findlay Wyllie 1 try by Cameron Miller and 1 Try by Struan Fleming and 4 conversions from the boot of Findlay Wyllie. The final score 43-26!! ❤️🖤 From the coaching perspective, we are unbelievably proud of the boys, the development of their game and willingness to play for the team and shirt is admirable. They should take real positive points from the game but remember we are two games in, lots to work on at training to keep the progression strong. Todays play was exciting and every single boy played their part in the final score. All we ask of you all is to give it 100% for each other and that’s what you did! Remember Teamwork makes the dream work!!! Special mention to Oliver Brown and Keir Cathcart on their U13 debut. Thank you must also go to our travelling support of the boys families and friends, always important at these games!!
