Founder member and 1st XV prop Gordon or ‘GY’ as he is better known, was the cornerstone of the Biggar scrum through the 70’s and 80’s, his last 1st XV appearance being in 1989. He still dons a jersey for social occasions and especially against Peebles OAPees.

Our Bar Convenor when the clubhouse opened in 1991, he returned for a second term of office and has now been a firm fixture on the committee for almost 20 years.

He is currently Bar Convenor, International Ticket chief, Sponsorship Convenor and Clubhouse Manager, while only last year did he pass on the role of Membership Secretary.

There are very few who know more people in Biggar and far no one who spends more time on BRFC business. There is no task he is reluctant to take on…. he would still prop for the 1’s given the chance!
