Now that it is much darker, much earlier in the evening, could we please ask that all those travelling to the club keep an eye out for all those walking to the club? Reducing speed would be another plus - many drive down far too fast!
Over the years we have requested that the Council provide additional lighting, signage and/or a pavement, but none of these requests have been granted. Given the current financial crisis it is difficult to see any change in their position.
We have again written to our Councillors.
In the meantime we are exploring the possibility of providing reflective arm-bands and the like to help warn road users of pedestrians. Please make sure you are visible to the motorists!
